The standard terms under which we accept mandates.
Engagement
We accept mandates by written engagement letter setting out scope, deliverables, fees and the named lead. Work begins once the letter is countersigned and any agreed advance for government fees and disbursements is received.
Fees and disbursements
Professional fees are as stated in the engagement letter. Government fees and disbursements are passed through at cost against official receipts. Invoices are payable within thirty days unless the engagement letter says otherwise.
Client responsibilities
- Provide complete, accurate documents and disclose anything that affects a filing.
- Respond to information requests promptly — most delay in Iraq is document delay.
- Confirm authority for anyone instructing us on your behalf.
Limits and termination
We cannot guarantee the decision or timetable of any Iraqi authority; we guarantee only the standard of our own work. Either party may terminate on written notice, with fees due for work performed to that date. Iraqi law governs the engagement.
